Bad news for South Florida

DHL, worldwide shipping carrier, is cutting 9,500 jobs. DHL's US and LatAm operations are based in Ft. Lauderdale and the company is one of the areas larger employers. This does not bode well for us, since our economy is one of the hardest hit from the housing bust, and with the economy on a downswing, tourism will also suffer.
